Chris Joseph’s new book, “Just Thinking”

Daddy Joseph wrote a book called “Just Thinking” months ago, and now Tyler Joseph is finally promoting it on Instagram stories.

proud of my dad for writing his first book. it’s a daily Christian devotional, one page a day. swipe it if this is something you or someone you know would be interested in.

Joseph also joked that his dad paid him “$14.3 million in Bitcoin to promote his book”. And her mom is the next.

my mom says she’s working on a book too but she better show me that bread if she wants me to #ad it.

    What a greedy son.

Anyway, I just bought Chris’s book on Kindle. You can do it too. Only costs $7.99.

    Officially ditching Weibo for alive.bar

Weibo has been banning my account and shutting me up. I’ve spent much time and energy dealing with it, but now I’m done with it (for real). I’m moving to alive.bar. If you didn’t know, it’s a Twitter-like site created by Liang Huan (an experimental musician in Beijing) and it has attracted large group of Chinese people. Topics on alive.bar involve culture and politics. It has been banned in China, so access it with a VPN in China.

Absolutely nothing will stop me from creating and blogging.

    正式弃用微博,转战 alive.bar

我要转到alive.bar。 alive.bar上的话题涉及文化和政治。

Is purple the color of the next era?

Speculation about next era’s color has started since Josh took a 80s camera shoot with purple background and made it his new layout.

More evidence surfaced in Josh’s new Instagram story. There were obviously purple lights in the back.

So, basically everything screams purple. Personally it’s a hint that can’t be missed out.

Purple was also one of the theme colors of self-titled album cover.

Sina finally admitted they killed my account because I “violated the rules”

After shutting down my account without explaining anything, today Sina Weibo finally admitted that because I posted content that violated their rules, my account was permanently shut down.

Previously, Sina has always hidden behind “abnormal activities” without explicitly saying what my account’s current status is and why.  after some research, my best guess is that they had to delete my account because it was ordered by the government. And all that I posted was a link to Dr. Ai’s interview. Just that. And because of that, I  permanently lost connections with everyone that I had made connections with on Sina.

I guess you can say Sina didn’t  sensor my content fast enough. If they did, there would not be these consequences. But to be honest, who gave these “Internet police” the right to sneak around deleting people’s online accounts without ever admitting to it? Why do you shut down my mouth then keep it a secret? It’s the behaviors of thieves. Like, show your faces, cowards.

    Anyway. Merry Christmas.

Josh’s new profile picture from the 80s

Josh is embracing his 80s-vibe photo shoot by setting it as his new profile picture. Therefore, now apart from being on Tyler’s T-shirt, it’s also on Josh’s web accounts. Great!

    here’s the 1080p image

LOC “never-ending music video” has ended

Dec 16: Josh has officially pulled the plug on the server that powers the “never-ending music video” that has been playing on twenty one pilots’ YouTube channel for 178 days, displaying fan uploaded images and videos. The official reason for unplugging is that Josh wanted to plug in his Christmas tree and didn’t have more slots on the wall.

Side note: didn’t know servers look this small these days. I thought they were big enough to put in a cabinet or some sort. Also Josh’s acting was awkward as always.

Side note 2: I bet you the real location of the server is on one of Mark’s cloud servers.

Tyler’s birthday gift from Josh this year is a colorful T-shirt with Josh’s face

Mr. Joseph has a lot of love for his friend today. He posted a selfie with him wearing this colorful T-shirt custom-made with “my friend, josh” text and a vintage-looking Josh photo on it. Apparently it was a gift from Josh and Debby. Joseph wrote on Instagram,

    “my friend, josh.”
josh and debby with this years best birthday gift.

    Some replies.

joshuadun: wow you look more amazing in this than i even pictured in my head

debbyryan: just glad you didn’t already have one

mommadun: “Let the record show” I’m a little bit jealous.

Why I’m writing in English now and why I will be posting on Pixnet

From today, every dun4real post will also be posted in Chinese on Taiwan blog hosting site Pixnet.

It has certainly been a disappointment to post on Chinese social media sites like Sina Weibo where I got one account blocked, and another account’s posts basically not visible to anyone. No one from Sina has taken the time to explain the reason to me despite multiple appeals to them, through 3 different Weibo accounts, via messages, in app, on the web, through phone… All the ways didn’t work. It’s frustrating. And hurting.

It’s disappointing to me because, even though I had long tried to lower my dependence on Weibo, I never expected thousands of posts and so many connections and audiences to be lost overnight, maybe only because I stood for something and cared about something and posted a link to Dr. Ai’s interview during the horrible pandemic in China. Lives were lost, families were apart, and we couldn’t say a word about it or we don’t get to speak another word.

Lately I have been posting in English not for attracting anyone speaking English, but because it’s the language I feel comfortable writing in. It’s also because I find it odd to write this stuff in Chinese, like Chinese pop music stuff should just be about having fun or be about drama or pitting one another or spending money on concerts then showing off, instead of maybe just writing a fact and not have any drama.

Writing in Chinese makes me feel strange, like I’m a minority, like I’m not supposed to do so. In my years of experience of telling the story of the band, I have always felt awkward with every word I typed, like these posts don’t belong here on Chinese Internet. When I finally write these stories in English, I feel free. Like when I’m posting these stuff in English, it’s just normal, like I’m no different than anyone else who would write these stories.

I’m glad I finally found my language. I’m also thankful for Deepl who can translate English stuff to Chinese correctly with a click.

archivedpilots released 477 pages of twenty one pilots interviews

Today @archivedpilots released 477 pages of twenty one pilots interviews for download. They pictured a colorful timeline of the band with social media updates, magazine pieces, interview videos, etc, from the beginning of their career to nowadays. According to them, the intention was to let international fans (us, for example to get a easier look at the band’s interviews & stuff, and to translate them.

    Download the PDF “THOT”: bit.ly/thotpdf

    Mirror links: Mediafire / dun4real.org

Personally, I want to thank archivedpilots and his mates for making this. It’s more than precious to me and all the international fans who may never have the chance to go to a local newsstand to pick up a newspaper or rock magazine with the band’s name on it, or have the ability to surf through their thousands of YouTube videos and understand every line they said. It seems to me that the PDF they made is the greatest twenty one pilots pedia ever made, which is also something I set myself to do just from last weekend. How lucky.

With this happening, I’m sure my work here will be easier, which is to organize every of their interviews. Again, I’m so thankful that these people exist in this community. I will make sure to make great use of these materials and make more people understand the band’s history and message.

    下载PDF “THOT”:bit.ly/thotpdf。
